Would You Open Your Eyes?

220px-Bird_Box_2014_book_coverSomething is out there, something terrifying that must not be seen. One glimpse of it, and a person is driven to deadly violence. No one knows what it is or where it came from.

Five years after it began, a handful of scattered survivors remains, including Malorie and her two young children. Living in an abandoned house near the river, she has dreamed of fleeing to a place where they might be safe. Now that the boy and girl are four, it’s time to go, but the journey ahead will be terrifying: twenty miles downriver in a rowboat–blindfolded–with nothing to rely on but her wits and the children’s trained ears. One wrong choice and they will die. Something is following them all the while, but is it man, animal, or monster?

I walked into this book with high expectations. So I ended up with mixed feelings about this book. I’ve heard this book was scary. I on the other hand thought it was slow. The ending had a little creepy feeling but to me it wasn’t that exciting. I wanted to love this book but I just couldn’t. It at first reminded me of the movie The Happening. Then when they brought up creatures I thought of aliens. The main characters was so strong and brave. I couldn’t imagine being in that type of situation. I gave it a 3 because although I thought it was slow, I liked the story.

I’m Back!!

I’m so sorry for not posting much. I got behind on my reading. I had my brother’s wedding last weekend. So I was so worn out and I had so much laundry and cleaning. But I have a review that I will be posting in a few moments. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Never Be Alone

She was a girl, just a child, no older than fifteen when her life ended. If only you had helped. -Paige Dearth

Happiness is about being grateful for all you got…even if it isn’t much. The thing you gotta remember is most of the people who don’t have anything act the way human beings are supposed to act. We learn to be grateful for things that don’t really matter to folks with jobs and money.

I highly recommend this book!! It’s about a girl who’s parents died at a young age. She was put into the system and was brought into a terrible home. Was tortured, starved and sexually assaulted. When she got a little older she decided to run away. Became homeless and dealt with many obstacles.  Then ending was amazing and made my heart melt!

This book gave me a new perspective on life. What you shouldn’t take for granted! I could go on and on. Please read this book!!

Save a Life For Your Own

“Beaten and left for dead as a young child, Haden Church was raised by the mysterious Ministry of Wraith where he was taught to hone his dark talents. Now, as an adult, he uses those same demonic skills to track down evil.

When an innocent girl is kidnapped and buried alive, Haden needs more than just his ability to resurrect the dead. If he’s going to find her in time, he’ll need a little help.

The Blood Singer, a devil Haden once tried to kill, has the skills he needs, but her price for participation could be Haden’s life.”

If you are looking for something different in the supernatural aspect, this would be a good small story for that. It was really good. The only issue I had with it was that it was so short. The story happened all at once and I felt like it was just trying to get the main story over with instead adding more detail. It went from the beginning to straight to the climax/end. I wanted more story while Haden grew up. Maybe a few more saves before this major save he made in the book.

All in all it was a great read and I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the supernatural.

Is Love Really Worth the Pain

“This was the moment I chose to make excuses for what had just happened. The moment I became that girl who hid behind a fake smile with the constant worry of doing something wrong. This was the moment I forgave Jason for hurting me and vowed to never speak to another boy again.

This was the moment that I let him own me.”

If you are looking for a quick dark book, this is a great one to read! It’s a great story and I highly recommend this book. I couldn’t believe the intensity in this book. The confusion in the main character. The crazy mind this guy had.

The only thing I didn’t like about this book was for one it was short and also I felt it went to the climax right away. I wanted that build up!

So please if you have Netgalley request this, read, and give feedback!!

Netgalley and Goodreads

I have you heard of Netgalley and Goodreads? No? Well you need to sign up now! I will explain why.

Netgalley is a free site that you can request books to read. So easy steps: 1. Sign up 2. Put info in 3. Request books 4. Review. It’s that simple! But you must review them! It’s the least we can do for them! So please get yourself signed up and give those authors some encouragement or tips!

Goodreads! I can’t say enough on how much I love Goodreads! Basically get yourself signed up for this site. It keeps tabs on the books you’ve read, books that you want to read (TBR pile), books that you are currently reading and also you can follow your favorite authors to get updates on their new book. Plus this also allows you to give the books you read a rating and review. That helps the authors out also!

So please get to these sites and get reading and reviewing!!! Seriously do it! Do it now!! Haha

Happy Reading!
