I'm new with this book blogging reviewer! But I'm a pretty simple gal who loves reading! I'm a stay at home mom with three beautiful children! I enjoy spending time with them and reading in my spare time as much as I can!
Emily thinks Adam’s perfect; the man she thought she’d never meet. But lurking in the shadows is a rival; a woman who shares a deep bond with the man she loves.
Emily chose Adam, but she didn’t choose his mother Pammie. There’s nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her son, and now Emily is about to find out just how far Pammie will go to get what she wants: Emily gone forever.
The Other Woman is an addictive, fast-paced psychological thriller about the destructive relationship between Emily, her boyfriend Adam, and his manipulative mother Pammie.
This book was awesome! I would honestly give this book 5 stars! This book is a must read! I enjoyed the whole story. The fact that it kept you guessing. I don’t know how many times I kept yelling at Emily to just leave him!! At first you could understand why she stayed. But then later on in the story it made me think, why are you staying with him. To deal with all the drama and bullying was crazy. It’s hard to want your other half’s mother to love you. Because all you want to show her is that you truly love him and when she doesn’t give you chance, is difficult.
When the ending came I was in complete awe! It was for sure a surprise. It blew my mind and changed my perspective on things. What she did and how she did was wrong and could have been done so differently. But you understood why. To have that guilt and knowing about someone makes things so much worse. All I wanted to do slap this mother into next week!! Why? Why act this way?!?
Well if you want to know what really happen you should read the book! It would make you question things in life a whole lot more when it comes to the mother-in-law!
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister’s ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.
What was your favortie? Let me know in the comments? Have you read this series? Have you seen the movie?
I really adored this book! I also really enjoyed the movie. In all honesty I liked the movie more than the book. But I give the book and the movie 5 Stars!
So the reason behind the movie better than the book is that how Peter showed his emotions so much better than how I felt when I read the book. I felt in the book Peter was still the same jock compared to how he talked and acted in the movie. (Plus it helps that the person who is playing Peter is adorable as HELL and is really good at the puppy face!) But all in all I seriously seriously loved both! I loved the story line and the idea of the story. It’s different and thats what I like in books. Something different. I love how the sisters are so close and the love they have for each other. I loved the emotions and attitude that Lara Jean had. I felt like I was reading about myself almost when I was younger. I have and always will recommend this book and even the movie!
Afflicted with a chronic debilitating condition, Suzette Jensen knew having children would wreak havoc on her already fragile body. Nevertheless, she brought Hanna into the world, pleased and proud to start a family with her husband Alex. Estranged from her own mother, Suzette is determined to raise her beautiful daughter with the love, care, and support she was denied.
But Hanna proves to be a difficult child. Now seven-years-old, she has yet to utter a word, despite being able to read and write. Defiant and anti-social, she refuses to behave in kindergarten classes, forcing Suzette to homeschool her. Resentful of her mother’s rules and attentions, Hanna lashes out in anger, becoming more aggressive every day. The only time Hanna is truly happy is when she’s with her father. To Alex, she’s willful and precocious but otherwise the perfect little girl, doing what she’s told.
Suzette knows her clever and manipulative daughter doesn’t love her. She can see the hatred and jealousy in her eyes. And as Hanna’s subtle acts of cruelty threaten to tear her and Alex apart, Suzette fears her very life may be in grave danger…
I can’t believe this book! I’m in awe of how disturbing this book was. I gave this book 4 an half stars! Hanna was this very unsettling and disturbed girl. I feel so much for Suzette who had to go through what she went through. To not know what you did wrong. How did this all happen! How did she become so sick? This book although so unsettling was really good. I would recommend this book. Not only because it was good and I loved the story. Especially with it giving both perspective. But it would give people the idea of children who can be mislead. Trusting your spouse no matter what you see yourself. And also how you would go about the situation, no matter how scary or frustrated it can be. They are your child and you want whats best for them and you would do anything for them. What drove me crazy about this book was the father/husband. I get it, she acted different to him than to her mother. But when it came to other people saying the same thing. STILL in denial! To be looked at as crazy or being silly. Ugh! Can you imagine, the one you depend on is doubting your story. Your going through hell, stress and failure and the one you lean on isn’t there to catch you!
To be honest with you, there are kids out there that are like this. I personally know a little boy who I consider to become like this. It’s very scary and unnerving to know this.
Scarlett Dragna has never left the tiny island where she and her sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval—the faraway, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show—are over.
But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt-of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.
Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. Nevertheless she becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic. And whether Caraval is real or not, Scarlett must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over or a dangerous domino effect of consequences will be set off, and her beloved sister will disappear forever.
Welcome, welcome to Caraval…beware of getting swept too far away
For real who is the Legend! This book was incredible! I loved reading something different. You have to read this book if you haven’t!
The style, the story, the characters and mystery was amazing. I seriously don’t have much to say about this book just because I’m in so much awe of how much I loved it.
I literally fell in love in the first page. It drilled me and made me want to be apart of the game. You wanted to be in the adventure with Scarlett.
Your feelings will make you question on the characters. You will have hate and love.
I don’t want to say to much about it and give out spoilers. But I highly recommend this book. If you are looking for a magical adventure where you have never encountered before, this is the book to read! Can’t wait to start the second adventure in this series!
I had to share this! Not only do I read books but I also like to draw occasionally and also do puzzles. But my new obsession is this diamond painting! OMG everyone, you must at least do one! It’s relaxing and so satisfying! This was my first one and I can’t wait to be able to get more!!!
So I have been sitting and thinking. What am I going to read this coming month? I literally can’t just decide this is what I’m reading this month and thats that! So what I’ve decided is I’m going to only do a few books that I am for sure reading this month. I mean seriously how can you decide when there are so many books that come out and you see one and say “This book is a book that I need to read now!”. So I have only selected a few. I go to the library all the time and can’t decide which I should read next!
So these are my selected few! I’m currently working on Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. I love this author! Her books are so amazing and different and gives you a whole new version of Faes! If you have not read her books yet, I suggest you do. Especially if you are a big fantasy junkie like me!
I have heard so many good things about Caraval that I can’t wait to start this book! If you have this please let me know what you thought about it. I’m eager to hear what you thought about it.
I won She was the Quiet One from ST Martins Press. Now I am the person who feels has never had luck with winning anything. But when I finally won something, its obvisouly a good feeling. Especially when it comes to winning books. I can’t wait to start this! Has some people who has also won them have said it was a very, very great read!
Now Harry Potter! First off lets just take a few moments and say Happy Birthday to Harry Potter! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY!!! WE LOVE YOU!!! Anyways, back to the book. So in my Facebook group we made an event to read the Harry Potter series together. I’m really excited about this because it has been a long time since I have read them. I’ve been wanting to re-read this series for awhile now. So a way to start them then on his birthday! If you would like to be apart of this event just let me know and I can add you to the book group and an invite to the event!
Now I want to point out that I do have 4 kids that I take care of. So sometimes I don’t get to read as much as I like to. That is partly why my tbr pile is so small for August. I will remind that since I am part of the Netgalley life, I have tons of books from there on my kindle. So that being said I have books on their to my tbr pile but you just can’t see them hehe. So for me to get those reviews in for the authors on there, I have been reading a book on my kindle and also a physical book. I always try to stick to stick to 2 or 3 books at a time. Only because I don’t have a load of time to read and two I just don’t like reading so many at the time because I always forget what I’m reading in one book.
So what are your August tbr pile?
Would you like to be apart of the Harry Potter series event?
Are you apart of the Netgalley site?
Let me know in a comment or if you have any questions. Or if you just want to discuss a book. Thanks for reading and have a Happy Reading Day!
On September 5, 2015, in a public park in LaVergne, Tennessee, fourteen-year-old Sherokee Harriman drove a kitchen knife into her stomach as other teens watched in horror. Despite attempts to save her, the girl died, and the coroner ruled it a “suicide.” But was it? Or was it a crime perpetuated by other teens who had bullied her?
Sherokee’s short life and tragic death created a national media and social media frenzy much of it centered on sensationalism rather than the truth. Meanwhile in LaVergne, the community sought answers to questions about who, if anyone, should be held criminally responsible for “bullying.”
Review: This story is devastating and deeply sad. I don’t understand why people can be so cruel It breaks my heart to read these types of books. But it also gives you a perpestive on things and what you could do differently.
Would you help the person who is being bullied? Or would you stand aside and watch it happen? These are the types of questions that people need to think about.
From her not so good childhood to her friends and ex-boysfriends she has had sad situations. She had disorders, to sexual abuse, to a fire in their home…the lists go on. All she wanted was to feel loved, cared for, safe, and wanted. When she was let down she felt so worthless. She got tired of being let down and she looked at herself like she was a worthless, fat and ugly person.
The story I felt could have been written differently. I didn’t like how they started it. I wished they started with the build up to what they wrote at the beginning. I don’t think I would recommend this book. It was to be honest a very slow read.
